Learn the phonemic approach, the latest universal teaching strategy proven to be effective. The teaching strategy has been organized systematically so that it can be implemented easily. By mastering the basic sounds and their characteristics teaching reading is no longer complicated.

Appropriate to the psychological development of the child: A child’s ability to read depends on his/her age and readiness to learn. The ‘Cepat Baca’ and ‘I Can Read’ approach is suitable for a child’s age 4 to 7 years- a stage of rapid mental development.

Phonemic awareness: Phonemic awareness is the listener’s ability to realize that a word contains several basic sounds that can be combined and separated. Separating the word ‘mat’ into three distinct phonemes /m/, /æ/, and /t/, requires phonemic awareness.

The 4P’s reading system:

• Learning sounds through keywords.

• Identifying the sounds and letters that represent the sounds.

• A child’s ability to choose and segmentize the sounds in a word.

• Blending sounds in Malay and English to form a complete word.
